Water springs rehabilitation activity in Wadi Al-Ghweet as part of the project “Enhancement of food security through Agro-ecological Techniques and Practices and sustainable Management of natural resources in Al Khader
Caritas Jerusalem received the handover of the water springs rehabilitation activity in Wadi Al-Ghweet in Al-Khader, which was carried out in cooperation with the Directorate of Agriculture in Bethlehem and the Municipality of Al-Khader as part of the activities implemented by Caritas Jerusalem as part of the project “Enhancement of food security through Agro-ecological Techniques and Practices and sustainable Management of natural resources in Al Khader. Today, work was received on the rehabilitation of water springs in Wadi Al-Ghweet, which included restoration and rehabilitation of the region's four natural water sources through the construction of surface water basins connecting sub-assembly basins, restoration, rehabilitation and construction of pool ponds for springs with a capacity of about 250 cubic meters, in addition to the restoration of an existing well to collect surface water in the area. This is to contribute to the provision of a permanent natural water reservoir that farmers can exploit and utilize in the cultivation of their land.
