A wonderful Christmas present for the inhabitants of Bethlehem!
Among his many projects to help Christians of the Holy Land, Bishop Peter Bürcher, Member of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches, committed to make a wish of Pope Francis: to encourage young people to pray for peace in the world. They will pray to the Lord through the intercession of Mary, thanks to the simple prayer of the rosary. This is the AVEJMJ project: AVE as Ave Maria (Hail Mary) and JMJ as the World Youth Days or as Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
In conclusion, an olive wood rosary made entirely in the Holy Land by needy families, young unemployed, prisoners, refugees will be offered to all the young who will participate in the next WYD in Panama in January 2019 and pray for peace in the world. Caritas Jerusalem, responsible for the organization of this work in Bethlehem Governorate and surrounding villages, will be able to give work for several months to hundreds of families in need.
