The youth department with its volunteers was very active in organizing, helping and arranging different activities during the Christmas season
Christmas is a time of giving and sharing with those around us, especially, with those that are not as fortunate in their lives as we are.
Caritas Jerusalem celebrates with those who are lonely, sick and marginalized by visiting several institutions in Bethlehem to spread love and joy.
On the 12th of January 2018, Caritas Jerusalem’s volunteers visited Caritas Baby Hospital, The Antonian Charitable Society of Bethlehem, Creche Center for Orphans, the Franciscan House of the Child, House of Peace, Huda Al Masri Children’s Hospital, Al-Shurooq School for Blind Children, Lifegate Rehabilitation Center for Children with disabilities, SOS Children’s Villages, Mother Teresa’s House and many other such centers where the volunteers together with children and the senior citizens sang Christmas carols, danced, painted the children’s faces and distributed 800 gifts.
“Caritas Jerusalem encourages young people to volunteer in the society and to help those who are in need all through the year; we make a special effort during Christmas to express our care for people we love. I thank everyone who participated in our activities.” Stated Tony Abdo, Caritas Jerusalem’s youth coordinator.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank BYU Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies for their generous contribution of the hygiene kits and we
truly appreciate the kind coordination of Mr. Reg Christensen who is always ready to give us a helping hand.
