About Caritas Jerusalem

Caritas Jerusalem was founded in 1967 in the aftermath of the Six Day War and is a humanitarian and development organization that represents the socio-pastoral services of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land.

Our Mission is to enhance the quality and accessibility of social and medical services for the poor and marginalized; ensure food security for the underprivileged; create economic opportunities through job creation; provide emergency humanitarian aid on daily basis and in times of crisis; empower youth as community leaders; and advocate for peace, freedom and justice in the Holy Land.

Caritas Jerusalem operates in the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem through three main interventions: The Social Intervention, The Health & Emergency Intervention and The Community Development Intervention.

The Caritas Training Center (CTC) trains women in sewing and embroidery in Ramallah and the Elderly Day Care Center (EDCC) in Ramallah serves the elderly.

We have two medical Centres. One is in Taybeh, West Bank and the other in the Gaza Strip, Gaza city.
